From a student’s very first notes to advanced study, Stouffville Academy offers personalized one-on-one music lessons designed around each student’s pace, interests and goals. Our experienced educators build strong foundations in technique, music reading and musicianship while helping students discover music they are excited to play or sing. Students can learn for enjoyment, prepare for performances or pursue optional Royal Conservatory examinations.
A versatile and rewarding way to begin making music. Piano lessons develop music reading, rhythm, coordination, technique and musical expression while giving students the satisfaction of playing recognizable music from the very beginning. Personalized one-on-one instruction allows each student to progress at a comfortable pace and explore repertoire that supports both strong foundations and their individual interests.
Build a confident, expressive voice through healthy technique and personalized instruction. Singing lessons help students develop breath control, pitch, tone, music reading and interpretation while learning repertoire suited to their voice, interests and goals. Students can explore styles including Broadway, Musical Theatre, pop and jazz while building the confidence to share their voice in lessons and performance.
From first notes and chords to increasingly confident playing, Guitar lessons build technique, rhythm, music reading and a strong understanding of the instrument. Students progress through appropriately challenging repertoire while also having opportunities to explore musical styles that interest them. Personalized instruction helps each guitarist develop skills steadily while keeping the experience motivating and enjoyable.
Turn rhythm into energy, coordination and musical confidence. Drum lessons begin with strong foundations in technique, stick control, timing and notation before students learn to coordinate the full drum kit. As skills develop, students can explore styles including rock, pop, jazz, blues and more, with instruction that balances progressive technique with music they are excited to play.
Develop technique, musicality and expressive playing through a strong music-reading foundation. Violin lessons build skills in posture, bow control, pitch, rhythm and music theory while guiding students through progressively challenging repertoire. Personalized instruction allows each student to develop at an appropriate pace while building the confidence and musicianship needed for recreational playing, performance or optional examination study.
Private one-on-one lessons give students focused time with an educator who can adapt instruction to their pace, experience, interests and goals. All lessons are 30 minutes in length, with one-hour lessons available for advanced students. Students can learn recreationally, prepare for Stouffville Academy performances and, if they choose, work toward Royal Conservatory examinations.
