From a child’s very first dance class to advanced training, Stouffville Academy offers a welcoming place to learn, make friends and grow. Our recreational classes are organised by age or school grade so students can learn alongside their peers, with a wide range of styles to help each dancer find a class that fits their interests, personality and experience.
KinderDance First Steps
Age 2
A playful introduction to movement and music. Dancers explore rhythm, imagination and creativity while discovering how much fun it can be to learn, dance, and be part of a group.
KinderDance 1
Age 3
A fun and creative introduction to dance, movement and performance. Dancers explore rhythm, coordination, body awareness and coordination through imaginative, age-appropriate activities.
KinderDance 2
JK
Dancers build on their movement skills with creative dance activities that develop coordination, listening skills, spatial awareness and confidence in a positive and supportive environment.
KinderDance 3
SK
Dancers build strong foundations in ballet and creative movement while developing coordination, rhythm, musicality and confidence through fun and engaging activities.
Acro
Grades 1–6 & Teen
Develop strength, flexibility, balance and coordination while learning acrobatic skills in a safe, progressive and positive environment.
Ballet
Grades 1–6 & Teen
Build strong ballet technique, improve alignment and grace, while developing strength, posture and musicality. Ballet Academy of Dance inspired training meets timeless techniques.
Contemporary / Lyrical
Grades 4–6 & Teen
Express emotion and creativity through movement. Contemporary and lyrical classes blend fluid movement, expressive artistry and technique.
Hip Hop
Grades 1–6 & Teen
A high-energy class that focuses on rhythm, coordination, isolation and style, all while moving to the pulse of today’s music.
Jazz
Grades 1–6 & Teen
Dynamic classes that build strength, flexibility, technique and performance skills through a variety of jazz styles and choreography.
Tap
Grades 1–6 & Teen
Develop rhythm, coordination and musicality while learning tap technique and choreography in a setting that is both fun and encouraging.
