Answers to the questions Stouffville Academy families ask most, covering programs, schedules, registration, tuition, performances and visiting us. If you cannot find what you need, just ask us.
Start with what interests your child, and don’t worry if you’re not sure. You can explore our Dance, Music, Acting & Musical Theatre and Camp programs to learn more about the options available for your child’s age, school grade and experience level.
If you’re still unsure, just ask us. Our team knows our programs and educators well, and we’re happy to talk about your child’s interests, personality, age, previous experience and your family’s schedule to help you find a good place to start.
Choosing a class does not have to mean getting it perfect the first time. With hundreds of classes and lessons available, if something is not the right fit, we’ll work with your family to explore other options and help your child find something they can enjoy and grow into.
Not at all. Many children begin at Stouffville Academy with no previous experience in dance, music or drama. For some, it is their very first organized activity. Our experienced educators know how to help beginners feel comfortable, supported and excited to learn. We’ll help your child find a program that is appropriate for their starting point so they can build skills and confidence at their own pace.
We generally do not offer trial classes. When a student registers with us, their place in that class or lesson is reserved specifically for them, so we are unable to hold spaces for trial students.
More importantly, we have learned that one class is not always enough for a child to discover whether an activity is right for them. Enjoyment often grows as children become more comfortable, develop new skills, get to know their teacher and make a couple of new friends.
If a child does discover that a particular class or program is not the right fit, we’ll work with the family to explore other options whenever space and scheduling allow.
Please reach out. We are here to help. With hundreds of classes and lessons to choose from, we understand that finding the right starting point can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our team can help narrow the choices based on your child’s age or school grade, interests, personality, experience and your family’s schedule.
Give us a call or stop by and see us in person. Sometimes a short conversation is all it takes to find a program that feels like the right fit for your child and your family.
Absolutely. It is very common for children to feel unsure before trying something new. Our educators are used to welcoming first-time students and helping them become comfortable with the room, the teacher and the other students at a pace that feels manageable.
If there is something that helps your child settle into new environments, tell us before the first class. A little information can help us make the transition more comfortable.
Please talk to us before giving up on the program. Sometimes a child simply needs a little time to settle in, while in other cases a different class time, discipline, instrument or teaching style may be a better match. Because Stouffville Academy offers many programs and educators in one location, we often have options to explore, subject to availability.
Often, yes. Private music lessons can frequently begin during the year when a suitable teacher and lesson time are available. Dance and Acting & Musical Theatre classes may also accept later registrations when there is space and the student can join successfully without disrupting class progress or performance preparation.
The best approach is to check the current online schedule or contact us. If a class is already well into choreography or recital preparation, we may recommend another option or a different starting point.
We want every child to have a safe, positive and successful experience. If your child has a learning, sensory, medical, mobility, communication or behavioural need that may affect participation, please contact us before registering or before the first class.
We can talk with you about the program, classroom expectations and the supports that may be practical within our staffing and facility. This conversation helps us determine whether a particular class is a good fit and what information the educator should know.
Registration is easy and available online anytime. Simply find the class, lesson or camp that works for your family through the online schedule and follow the steps to register. If you have questions or would like some help along the way, we’re always happy to assist. Give us a call or stop by and see us in person.
Stouffville Academy’s 2026–2027 Dance season begins in September 2026 and runs through June 2027. School-year Dance programs are full-season programs. Acting & Musical Theatre classes run from September 2026 through May 2027. Private Music lessons follow the instructional schedule shown on the current Music Schedule, with lesson availability depending on the selected instrument, educator and time. For all programs, use the current online Schedule page for specific class or lesson start dates.
Join the waitlist whenever one is available. Stouffville Academy may add additional classes or lesson times as schedules fill, and waitlists help us understand where families need more options. They also give us a way to contact interested families if a space opens or a new section is added.
Placement depends on the program. For the 2026–2027 Dance season, Stouffville Academy organizes recreational classes primarily by the school grade the dancer will be entering in September 2026. Year of Birth (YOB) is shown beside each age or grade group as a quick reference, but school grade remains the primary placement guide from JK onward. Music scheduling depends on the instrument, the student’s age and readiness, educator availability and an available private lesson time. For Acting & Musical Theatre, use your performer’s age in September 2026 when selecting a class. The Drama Schedule shows the current age-specific class sections. If you are unsure which option is appropriate, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
YOB means Year of Birth. Stouffville Academy shows YOB beside each age or school-grade group on the 2026–2027 Dance Schedule as a quick eligibility reference. For school-age dancers, school grade remains the primary placement guide. If your dancer’s school grade and YOB do not appear to align, use the school-grade section or contact us and we’ll help you confirm the appropriate schedule.
No. Private Music lesson availability can change as students register, so a requested lesson day and time is subject to final confirmation by Stouffville Academy. The online Music Schedule shows currently available options, but please wait for confirmation before treating a requested time as final.
Absolutely. With 12 studios and teaching spaces, our schedule is designed to make life easier for busy families. Siblings can often take dance or drama classes and music lessons at the same time, reducing the number of trips in your week. Children exploring more than one interest can also schedule programs back-to-back, for example, finishing a ballet class and heading straight to a piano lesson. With hundreds of classes and lessons all in one location, families have the flexibility to build a schedule that works for everyone.
Often, yes. One of the practical advantages of having Dance, Music, Acting & Musical Theatre and Camps in one location is the ability to combine different interests into one visit. Availability will depend on the specific day and schedule, but our team can help you look for combinations such as dance followed by a music lesson.
Please contact the office rather than arranging a permanent change directly with an educator. Class and private lesson times are coordinated centrally so we can confirm space, teacher availability and the impact on the rest of the schedule. We’ll do our best to find another option when a change is needed.
Please let the office know as early as possible if your child will miss a class or private lesson. Group classes continue their progression whether or not an individual student is present, so missed group classes are generally not made up. Private music lesson make-up options are limited and depend on the current attendance policy, advance notice and teacher availability.
Students should arrive ready to begin on time. In Dance, arriving significantly late may mean observing rather than participating because missing the warm-up can increase injury risk. Private music lessons still end at the scheduled time if a student arrives late.
If an educator is unexpectedly unavailable, we may arrange a qualified substitute so the class or lesson can continue. If Stouffville Academy must cancel instruction and a substitute or alternative is not possible, families will be contacted with the applicable make-up, credit or scheduling information under the current program policy.
Do not assume Stouffville Academy is closed simply because daytime schools are closed. Weather conditions and program times can be different. If programs are cancelled, we will communicate the closure through our official channels. When conditions are uncertain, please check for current Stouffville Academy communication before travelling.
Stouffville Academy offers introductory Dance programming beginning with very young dancers and continues through school-age, teen and adult levels. Our 2026–2027 schedule includes early KinderDance options before the school-grade classes begin, followed by programs organized around the dancer’s grade in September 2026. The current Dance Schedule is the best place to see which options are available for your child.
KinderDance is Stouffville Academy’s progressive introduction to dance for young children. Rather than placing a wide range of preschool ages together, the program separates young dancers into developmentally appropriate groups so instruction, expectations and activities can better match where they are. The goal is to build coordination, musicality, confidence and a positive first relationship with dance.
Recreational Dance options include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Lyrical and KinderDance programming, with additional opportunities available through Stouffville Academy’s Competitive Team. The exact disciplines and class times offered can vary by grade and season, so check the current Dance Schedule for available choices.
Start with your child’s personality and what they are naturally drawn to. A child who loves structure and classical movement may enjoy Ballet; a child drawn to rhythm and upbeat movement may prefer Jazz, Tap or Hip Hop; Acro combines dance with flexibility, balance and acrobatic skills; Contemporary/Lyrical gives students more space for expressive movement.
There is no need to have the answer before you contact us. Tell us what your child enjoys and we can help narrow the choices.
Dance students should arrive in the required uniform for their class so educators can see alignment and movement clearly and students can move safely. Requirements vary by discipline and may include a fitted dance bodysuit or other fitted dancewear, tights and discipline-specific footwear. Please use the current Dance Dress Code for the exact uniform and shoe requirements before purchasing items.
Hair should be secured neatly off the face so it does not interfere with movement or instruction. Ballet and other technique classes may require a secure bun, while some styles allow another secure hairstyle. Jewellery and valuables should generally be left at home for safety and to prevent loss. Check the current Dance Dress Code for class-specific requirements.
Footwear depends on the discipline. Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop use different shoes, while some classes such as Acro or Contemporary/Lyrical may work barefoot. A small labelled dance bag with the required shoes and basic hair supplies is helpful. Before buying footwear, confirm the current Dance Dress Code so you purchase the correct style and colour.
Group Dance classes are generally designed as student-focused learning spaces rather than parent-observation classes. This helps students concentrate, become more independent and feel comfortable trying new skills without feeling that they are performing during practice.
For our youngest KinderDance students, viewing options may be available through the studio’s closed-circuit system. Families may also be invited to observe at selected times when appropriate.
Regular attendance matters because group Dance classes build progressively and choreography is learned as a team. A missed group class is generally not made up individually, and tuition is not reduced for student absences. If your child will be away, please notify the office and encourage them to return promptly so they can stay connected to the class.
Recreational Dance is designed for students who want high-quality training, skill development, confidence and performance experience within a manageable weekly commitment. Competitive Dance involves a greater training commitment, additional choreography and performance opportunities, and a stronger expectation around attendance, preparation and teamwork.
Stouffville Academy offers both full- and part-time Competitive Team pathways. Placement considers ability, experience, work ethic, attendance and readiness, not simply age.
Competitive Team participation is by audition or invitation. If your dancer is interested in taking the next step, contact us for current audition information. We can explain the different commitment levels and help determine whether competitive training is a good fit for your dancer and your family.
Readiness depends on the instrument and the individual child. At Stouffville Academy, Piano and Violin can often begin around age 5, while Singing, Guitar and Drums typically begin around age 8. These are starting guidelines rather than guarantees, and physical readiness, attention span, interest and teacher availability all matter. Contact us if you are unsure whether your child is ready.
Private lesson options include Piano, Singing/Voice, Guitar, Drums and Violin, with other instruments such as selected woodwinds available when a suitable teacher and time are available. The current Music Lessons Schedule shows the instruments and lesson times open for registration.
The best first instrument is usually one your child is genuinely excited to learn and physically ready to play. Piano can be a very accessible starting point because the layout is visual and students can produce a clear sound immediately, while other children are strongly motivated by singing, guitar, drums or violin.
Tell us what your child listens to, what instrument catches their attention and whether they have any previous musical experience. We can help you think through the options before you register.
Stouffville Academy’s standard private Music lesson is 30 minutes. For advanced students who need additional instructional time, a one-hour lesson may be available by scheduling two consecutive 30-minute lessons, subject to instructor and schedule availability.
In most cases, yes. Regular access to an appropriate instrument between lessons is important because progress comes from applying what the teacher introduces during the weekly lesson. Before purchasing an instrument, ask us or your teacher what size, features or quality level is appropriate for your child.
That depends on the instrument, the student’s size and how certain you are that the instrument is a long-term fit. Renting can be a practical way to begin with instruments that come in different sizes or require a larger initial investment, while purchasing may make sense for instruments such as a suitable home piano or keyboard. We recommend asking your teacher or our team before making a major purchase.
Short, consistent practice is usually more effective than an occasional long session. Your child’s teacher will set goals that match their age, instrument and stage of learning. For younger students, a manageable routine on most days, focused on the specific tasks assigned in the lesson, is often more useful than simply counting minutes.
Parents do not need a musical background to help. Creating a regular practice time, reducing distractions and encouraging effort can make a significant difference.
Yes. Parents are welcome to observe private music lessons. Some students benefit from having a parent present, especially when they are young and the parent will help with practice at home; others concentrate better independently. You and the teacher can decide what works best for your child.
Most students will use method books, sheet music or other learning materials selected by their teacher as they progress. Your teacher or the office will let you know what is needed. Because materials should match the student’s level and goals, it is better to wait for the teacher’s recommendation than to purchase books in advance.
Talk to us before stopping lessons. Sometimes a change of repertoire or teaching approach is enough to renew a student’s interest; in other cases, a different teacher or instrument may be a better match. Having multiple music educators and instruments available at Stouffville Academy gives us more flexibility to help families explore another option.
No. Students can learn music for enjoyment, performance and personal growth without taking examinations. For students who want a structured assessment pathway, Stouffville Academy can support preparation for optional Royal Conservatory of Music examinations when appropriate.
Often, yes. Private Music lessons are scheduled individually, so students can frequently begin after the season has started when a suitable educator and lesson time are available. Students beginning after the first week of the 2026–2027 season will have tuition pro-rated based on their start date. Requested lesson times remain subject to confirmation because availability changes as teacher schedules fill.
Please notify the office as early as possible rather than contacting the teacher directly to change the schedule. Private lesson make-up opportunities are limited and depend on the current attendance policy, the amount of notice provided and teacher availability. No-show lessons and late cancellations should not be assumed to be eligible for a make-up or credit.
Stouffville Academy’s Drama programming includes KinderBroadway, Musical Theatre and Theatre/Acting. KinderBroadway introduces younger performers to acting, singing, movement, storytelling and simple performance activities. Musical Theatre brings acting, singing and dance together, while Theatre/Acting places greater emphasis on acting technique, improvisation, character development, script work and communication.
Stouffville Academy organizes Drama classes by the performer’s age in September 2026. For the 2026–2027 season, current class groupings include KinderBroadway for ages 4–6; Musical Theatre for ages 6–8, 9–11 and 12+; and Theatre / Acting for ages 7–10 and 11+. Available sections may change from season to season, so the current Drama Schedule should always be used when registering.
KinderBroadway classes are 30 minutes. Musical Theatre and Theatre / Acting classes are 45 minutes. Current class days, times and availability are shown on the Stouffville Academy Drama Schedule.
No. Beginners are welcome. Classes are designed to teach the craft, not simply rehearse students who already know how to perform. Students learn through theatre games, improvisation, vocal and movement work, script study, character development and age-appropriate performance material.
Theatre/Acting focuses on acting skills such as improvisation, character development, script work, vocal expression, movement, taking direction and working with scene partners. Musical Theatre combines acting with singing and dance, helping students understand how the three disciplines work together in rehearsal and performance.
Both programs build confidence, communication, creativity and collaboration. The best choice depends on whether your child is most excited by acting alone or by the full combination of acting, singing and movement.
No. Musical Theatre is a learning environment, not an audition-only production. Students build acting, vocal and movement skills as part of the class. A child does not need to arrive with equal strength in all three areas, and previous training is not required.
It can be. Drama gives children structured opportunities to speak, imagine, collaborate and perform in a supportive environment. A shy child does not need to become the loudest person in the room to benefit; progress might look like volunteering an idea, speaking more clearly, taking a creative risk or becoming more comfortable in front of a group.
Students build skills through theatre games, improvisation, script and scene work, character development, vocal exercises, movement and performance practice. Stouffville Academy’s approach is to teach the underlying craft and then give students opportunities to apply those skills in scenes, musical numbers and performances.
Regular Drama classes are designed to give students meaningful opportunities to participate and perform. The goal is not to create a single star with everyone else in the background. Material can be selected and staged so students have opportunities that suit their abilities and help them grow. Specific casting processes may vary by project or season.
Private acting coaching may be available for students who want focused skill development, help preparing for an audition or support with a specific role. Availability depends on the Drama faculty and schedule, so contact us to discuss what your child is preparing for and whether a suitable private time is available.
Camp offerings vary by season and may include creative arts experiences, Junior Stars programming, Drama or Musical Theatre experiences, and Dance Intensives. The goal is to give children active, creative and fun-filled days where they can try new things, make friends and build confidence. Check the current Camp Schedule for the programs being offered this season.
Age ranges depend on the specific camp. The 2026 summer schedule includes Junior Stars for ages 4–7, Arts Camps for ages 8+ and Dance Intensive programming beginning at age 7. Always use the age or grade range shown for the specific camp when registering.
Families can choose the camp weeks that work for them. Stouffville Academy’s summer programming is designed so children can participate in a single week or in several weeks, subject to availability.
Before- and after-care is available for selected Camp programs when shown on the current Camp Schedule. Because extended-care times and registration requirements can vary by camp or season, add the care option during registration when it is offered and confirm the current hours before the first day.
Send your child in comfortable clothing and footwear that allow them to move, play and take part in creative activities. Bring a labelled water bottle and any lunch, snacks, indoor shoes, outdoor items or program-specific supplies identified for that camp. Label personal belongings whenever possible and leave unnecessary valuables at home.
Please provide complete allergy information during registration and contact us before camp if your child has an anaphylactic allergy or another food-related medical need. Food rules can vary by program, so follow the current Camp information for lunch and snack requirements rather than assuming a particular policy. If you are unsure whether something is permitted, ask us before the first day.
Tell us about relevant medical needs during registration and contact the office before camp if medication, an inhaler, an EpiPen or another health plan will be needed during the day. We need enough information in advance to discuss safe storage, access, emergency information and whether staff can support the child’s needs within the program.
Talk positively and specifically about what the day will be like: meeting the instructors, trying activities, having breaks and making new friends. Let us know at drop-off if your child is especially nervous so staff can help with the transition. A familiar routine, clearly labelled belongings and a confident goodbye are often more helpful than a long separation.
Follow the drop-off and pick-up instructions provided for your registered camp, including the correct entrance and scheduled times. If someone other than the usual parent or guardian will be picking up your child, make sure the office has the information required under the current Camp sign-out procedure before pickup.
Camp cancellation, transfer and refund terms can differ from school-year programming because spaces and staffing are committed in advance. Review the terms shown during registration and contact us as soon as possible if your plans change. A missed day should not be assumed to be refundable or transferable.
Tuition structure depends on the program. For Stouffville Academy’s 2026–2027 full-season Dance program, tuition is calculated for the entire September-to-June season and divided into nine equal payments from September through May. Private Music tuition is calculated at $31 per 30-minute lesson and divided into equal $124 installments for students beginning at the start of the season. Adult Dance classes use an 8-week session tuition model. The applicable schedule explains the payment structure before registration.
Tuition for Stouffville Academy’s 2026–2027 full-season Dance classes is based on the entire September-to-June season. For ease of billing, the annual tuition is divided into nine equal payments from September through May. The payment amount shown on the Dance Schedule represents one of those nine payments and excludes HST.
Tuition for Stouffville Academy’s full-season Dance programs is based on the entire September-to-June season, rather than on the number of classes held in an individual calendar month. For ease of billing, annual tuition is divided into nine equal payments from September through May. Because of the calendar, some months may include three weeks of instruction while others may include four or five. Each payment is therefore one installment of the annual tuition, not a charge based on the number of classes scheduled in that particular month. HST is added to the payment amount where applicable.
Stouffville Academy Adult Dance classes are offered in 8-week sessions. The tuition shown for an Adult Dance class is the tuition for the complete 8-week session, rather than one of the nine equal payments used for full-season Dance classes. HST is additional where applicable.
Private Music lessons at Stouffville Academy are $31 per 30-minute lesson. For students beginning at the start of the 2026–2027 season, tuition is calculated for 36 instructional weeks and divided into equal installments of $124 for ease of billing. Private Music lessons are HST exempt.
Monday private Music lessons include 32 instructional weeks rather than 36 because four statutory holidays fall on Mondays during the 2026–2027 season. The installment amount remains $124, but no tuition installment is due in May for Monday lessons.
Students who begin private Music lessons at Stouffville Academy after the first week of the 2026–2027 season will have their tuition pro-rated based on their lesson start date. The applicable amount is determined through Stouffville Academy’s registration and billing process.
Tuition for Stouffville Academy’s 2026–2027 Drama classes is based on the full September-to-May season and is divided into equal installments for ease of billing. The tuition installment is $49 for KinderBroadway and $69 for Musical Theatre and Theatre / Acting classes. HST is additional to all Drama tuition. The amount shown on the Drama Schedule represents one tuition installment rather than the total tuition for the season.
If a student joins a Stouffville Academy Drama class after the season has started, tuition will be pro-rated based on the student’s start date. Late registration is subject to class availability and may also depend on how far the class has progressed into rehearsal or performance preparation.
Yes. A $25 annual registration fee per student applies to 2026–2027 Dance, private Music, and Acting & Musical Theatre registrations at Stouffville Academy. Registration terms for Camps or other seasonal programs should be checked on the applicable current schedule or registration page.
Tax treatment depends on the program. Private Music lessons at Stouffville Academy are HST exempt. Dance tuition and Adult Dance session amounts shown on the schedule exclude HST, which is added where applicable. HST is also added to all Acting & Musical Theatre tuition. Check the current registration information for Camps and any other seasonal programs.
Depending on the program, there may be additional costs for items such as dancewear and shoes, music books or materials, recital costumes, performance-related fees, examination fees, tickets, competitive-team expenses or optional extended care for Camps. We aim to identify required costs as clearly as possible so families can plan ahead. If you are comparing programs and want a complete picture of the likely annual cost, please ask us.
School-year classes and private lesson times are planned around committed enrolment, so withdrawing is different from simply stopping attendance. If you are considering leaving a program, contact the office first so we can discuss the concern and see whether another class, teacher, instrument or schedule would solve the problem.
If withdrawal is still necessary, follow the written notice process and deadlines in the current registration terms. Absence from class does not by itself constitute notice of withdrawal.
Student absences do not automatically create a refund or tuition credit because the child’s place, teacher time and program costs remain reserved. Group class absences are generally not made up. Private music make-up options are limited and depend on the current policy, notice and teacher availability.
Whenever practical, Stouffville Academy may provide a qualified substitute so the class or lesson can continue as scheduled. If we must cancel instruction and cannot provide an appropriate substitute or alternative, we will communicate the applicable make-up, credit or other resolution under the current program policy.
Please contact the Stouffville Academy office rather than asking an educator to make administrative changes directly. The office coordinates attendance notices, permanent schedule changes, registration, billing and withdrawals so we can keep records accurate and make sure any change works with the overall schedule.
Performance is an important part of performing arts education, and Stouffville Academy provides age- and program-appropriate opportunities throughout the year. Depending on the program, these may include year-end recitals, showcases, concerts, community events, examinations, festivals or Competitive Team performances. Specific opportunities vary by season.
Year-end performance is a central part of the school-year Dance experience. It gives dancers the chance to apply the technique and choreography they have learned, work toward a shared goal and experience the confidence that comes from completing a performance on stage. Current recital dates, rehearsal details and performance information are communicated separately during the season.
Music recitals are encouraged, but they have traditionally been optional. Performing can be a valuable way to build confidence, prepare a piece to a higher level and celebrate progress, but students can also study music for personal enjoyment or examination goals. Your teacher can help decide when a student is ready for a performance opportunity.
Yes. Performance gives students a chance to apply the acting, vocal, movement and collaboration skills developed in class. Stouffville Academy’s Drama approach combines skill-building with opportunities to rehearse and present age-appropriate scenes, musical numbers and other performance material.
Performance nerves are normal, even for experienced performers. We prepare students gradually through class practice, rehearsal and repeated opportunities to perform material before the event. The goal is not to eliminate every nervous feeling; it is to help students learn that they can prepare, step on stage, do something challenging and feel proud of the result.
A dress rehearsal is the opportunity to run the performance in the venue with costumes, spacing, entrances, exits, lighting or other production elements before the audience arrives. Attendance is important because the rehearsal is for the entire group, not only the individual student. Families should protect the published rehearsal and performance dates once they are announced.
Dance recital costumes and other performance-related costs may be billed separately from tuition. Costs, deadlines and what is included can vary by program and season. Families should use the current recital information and registration terms for exact amounts rather than relying on fees from a previous year.
Ticketing depends on the venue and event. When tickets are required, Stouffville Academy will provide families with current purchasing information, sale dates and any venue-specific rules before the performance. Ticket costs should not be assumed to be included in regular tuition.
Performance presentation requirements depend on the program, costume, age and venue. Dance students may receive specific instructions for hair, tights, shoes, jewellery or stage presentation so the group looks consistent and safe on stage. Families should follow the current recital information rather than purchasing performance accessories based on an older season.
No. Examinations can provide a structured goal and an external measure of progress for students who want that pathway, but they are not the only way to learn or succeed. Music students may prepare for optional Royal Conservatory examinations, and Dance examination opportunities may be offered where appropriate. Your educator can discuss whether examinations fit your child’s goals.
Progress shows up in many ways: improved technique, stronger focus, confidence, independence, musical or theatrical understanding, and the ability to apply feedback. Educators may communicate informally throughout the season, and some programs may provide more formal progress feedback or preparation goals. If you have a concern about progress, contact us so we can arrange an appropriate conversation without interrupting another student’s class or lesson.
Stouffville Academy is located at 86 Ringwood Drive in Stouffville, Ontario, on the second floor. Please use the address and directions published on our current Contact page when planning your visit, and contact us if you would like help finding the entrance or locating the facility within the building.
Stouffville Academy brings Dance, Music, Acting & Musical Theatre, and Camps together in one performing arts facility with 12 studios and teaching spaces. The facility includes dedicated dance studios, private music teaching rooms and family/student areas. This allows different programs to run at the same time in one location.
Yes. We’re happy to help families become familiar with Stouffville Academy before they begin. Contact us to arrange a tour or ask when drop-in tours are available. It is also a good opportunity to talk through program choices and scheduling questions in person.
It gives families more ways to build a practical weekly schedule. One child can explore more than one interest without travelling between different organizations, and siblings can often participate in different programs at the same time. That can mean fewer trips, less waiting and more flexibility when choosing class times.
Stouffville Academy’s facility includes parent and student waiting areas. Because classes and private lessons are in progress throughout the building, we ask families to keep waiting areas calm and avoid interrupting teaching spaces. Children who are waiting should remain appropriately supervised.
Stouffville Academy has historically provided student lounge and homework space that can be useful for students waiting between programs or while a sibling is in class. Please ask our team about current availability and supervision expectations before planning for a child to use these spaces independently.
Food and drink should generally stay out of Dance studios and private music teaching rooms. Water and other permitted beverages can be used in designated waiting areas as appropriate. For Camps or special programs, follow the food and drink instructions provided for that program.
Contact Stouffville Academy and tell us what you need help with. Whether the question is about choosing a program, finding a schedule, registration, tuition, a current student concern or planning for a performance, our team is happy to point you in the right direction.
Please contact us before your first visit so we can understand the specific accessibility need and explain the current building access, teaching-space location and any practical accommodations. Stouffville Academy is located on the second floor, so we recommend confirming access arrangements with our team in advance.
